Overview

The overall aim of the Health and Wellbeing Strategy is to improve the health of the population in Sutton and also to reduce the differences in health outcomes between different parts of the borough.

The strategy which has been informed by the information in the Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA) for Sutton includes 9 key areas for action:

  1. Best start in life
  2. Healthy schools and pupils
  3. Helping people to find good jobs and stay in work
  4. Active and safe travel
  5. Warmer and safer homes
  6. Access to green and open spaces and the role of leisure services
  7. Strong communities, wellbeing and resilience
  8. Public protection and regulatory services (including takeaway/fast food, air pollution, and fire safety)
  9. Health and spatial planning

The strategy will be supplemented with an action plan, but this document is intended as a broad statement of aims and objectives rather than commissioning intentions.
