Short Breaks and Personal Budgets
Overview
Short breaks provide opportunities for children and young people with disabilities to take part in activities and work towards agreed outcomes, while also providing breaks for the parent/carer. They are commissioned by Sutton Council, which means that the Council identifies need, allocates resources and procures a provider to best meet those needs within the available means.
Personal budgets are paid directly to parents and carers which they use to purchase support for their child.
Many of you have told us that you want short breaks to involve more group sessions and activities during the holidays, and that you would like more control over your personal budget.
We are selecting new providers for short breaks services and looking at how we award personal budgets and want to hear from you about how things could look in the future.
This survey should take about 5 minutes to complete.
