Council Tax Reduction Scheme Consultation Round 2

Overview

Earlier this year, the Council put forward some proposed changes it would like to make to the Council Tax Reduction Scheme. 

The Council Tax Reduction Scheme helps residents on a low income pay their Council Tax. 

The Council has taken the difficult decision to look at changing the Council Tax Reduction Scheme due to our very challenging financial situation. The Council continues to face rapidly increasing demand for our services.  At the same time the Council needs to find £17 million of savings from our budget next year. 

The Council appreciates the time and effort that everyone who responded put into completing the previous consultation. The first consultation contained a small error so the Council will be conducting a further consultation.
