The InnOvaTe Project - The Challenge to growth in your business?

Closed 30 Nov 2019

Opened 8 Aug 2019

Overview

What is the ‘’Internet Of Things’’ project?

The Internet of Things is the idea of connecting a network of devices (small electronic sensors) which obtain and share data wirelessly for a specific outcome.

The South London Partnership is working with London Councils to deliver an "Internet of Things" (IoT) project across the five South London councils of Croydon, Kingston upon Thames, Merton, Richmond upon Thames and Sutton.

This initiative was awarded £4m funding by the Strategic Investment Pot (SIP) as part of the London Councils Business Rates Retention scheme for a three-year project.

The main aim of the project is to establish an IoT network across five-borough boundaries and is a unique opportunity to develop new ways of addressing common issues at scale across five boroughs in South London that will lead to economic growth and service improvements, using access data.

Why your views matter

Throughout this Summer and Autumn 2019, Sutton will be working with Digital Catapult to meet with and engage our local businesses to find out what their CHALLENGES are when it comes to economic growth.

We will use this information to work together in closer partnership and collaboration, in line with the Sutton Plan aspirations, when identifying workstreams for the project, with the intended outcomes to lead towards economic growth in Sutton.

As part of this, the project team is currently consulting with as many local businesses as possible through workshops (planned for September 2019) and this online survey to try and find out what are the blockers to economic growth to business in Sutton?
