Local Flood Risk Management Strategy Survey

Overview

Sutton Council is in the process of developing its Local Flood Risk Management Strategy, a duty it has as the Lead Local Flood Authority as defined in the Flood and Water Management Act 2010.

This survey includes questions about your thoughts about flood risk in Sutton and its management, as well as providing the opportunity for you to inform us about flooding events which have happened in the past. The latter will improve our local knowledge dataset and will be used to validate the modelling work we have undertaken to best manage flood risk.

There will be a further consultation during summer/autumn 2014 once the draft Local Flood Risk Management Strategy has been finalised. Why your views matter

We would like to hear your views about flood risk management for Sutton so as to tailor the Strategy to best fit the needs of all across Sutton. Only with your knowledge can we take the necessary steps to help reduce the risk of flooding. We are also interested to hear about your knowledge of any flooding events which you are aware of having occurred in the past ten years so as to help validate the modelling work that we have done so far. Any additional local information that you can provide will be vital for improving our understanding of the flood risk affecting Sutton, from which we aim to best manage flooding by implementing our Local Flood Risk Management Strategy.
