Forest Road / Woodstock Avenue area - Proposed 20mph speed limit
Overview
Sutton Council is committed to making roads safer in the borough and giving people more choice in how they travel. We want to improve safety on the roads to reduce the number and severity of accidents, to make it easier for people to walk or cycle and to improve air quality.
People have previously told us about traffic issues in the Forest Road area and we have used this feedback to develop proposals to address these issues.
We are inviting you to give feedback on a proposal to introduce a 20mph speed limit in the Forest Road area of Stonecot as shown on the plan below.
The proposal
The proposal is to reduce the speed to 20mph on Ardleigh Gardens, Elm Road West, Forest Road between Sutton Common Road and railway bridge, Glenthorne Close, Glenthorne Gardens, Midway, Morden Way, Romany Gardens, The Close, Woodstock Avenue
The aim of the 20mph proposal is to improve air quality and reduce the risk and severity of accidents. This would provide a safer environment for all road users and make it easier for people to walk and cycle in the area if they wish to.
