Tree Removal Notice (Ref. 144520)

Overview

Tree Removal Notice

  • Location: Side of 54 Hampton Road, Worcester Park, KT4 8ET
  • Date notice affixed: 4th February 2026

In some cases, a tree may be associated with structural damage or subsidence to nearby properties and removal may be the only way to prevent further damage. Removal of trees is only considered as a last resort.

Following detailed investigations as part of Sutton Council's insurance procedures, the London Plane tree beside 54 Hampton Road has been conclusively implicated in subsidence-related damage to the property. The Council has concluded that it must be removed to prevent further damage.

The Council proposes removing this tree. A consultation on the proposed removal of this tree is now open.

Where can I find more information?

The Council's tree management policies are available on the Council website: https://www.sutton.gov.uk/trees

Why your views matter

When tree removal involves the loss of an otherwise healthy tree, Sutton Council is legally required to undertake a public consultation for a period of 28 days from the date the notice is displayed on the tree, allowing residents to view the proposal and provide feedback.
