Sutton Local Validation List

Closed 28 Mar 2021

Opened 1 Feb 2021

Overview

The National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) recommends that all Local Planning Authorities (LPA) publish a list of local validation requirements. When a planning application is submitted, the LPA completes a series of checks to ensure that all of the required information has been provided.

The local validation list offers greater clarity to applicants when applying for planning permission and ensures that all relevant and necessary information is provided. The list provides a guide, with useful links, for applicants in preparing planning applications and other planning consents. Once adopted, the list will enable the Council to invalidate an application which does not comply with the relevant criteria.

The draft validation checklist, when adopted, will apply to all applications submitted to the Council and can be viewed on our website (opens in a new window) or at the link at the bottom of this page.

Why your views matter

The consultation on the draft validation checklist will run for 8 weeks.

Any consultation responses received will be taken into account prior to the preparation of the final list. The local list will then be published on the Councils website.
