Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment Consultation

Closed 28 Mar 2018

Opened 25 Jan 2018

Overview

Earlier this year the Health and Wellbeing Board ran a survey asking people for their views on pharmacy services in the London Borough of Sutton. The feedback that we received has been incorporated into the draft Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment (PNA) and this consultation is an opportunity to check that the PNA document reflects the issues that you think are important.

How to take part

A 60 day consultation period is now in progress and will run from Thursday 25th January 2018 until midnight on 28th March 2018.

The London Borough of Sutton has decided to issue and manage this consultation electronically in order to limit the environmental impact. The draft PNA, and associated appendices, along with a link to the consultation can be found below.

If you require a paper version of the PNA, please contact Molly Jordan either via email (molly.jordan@sutton.gov.uk) or telephone (020 8770 5585) and a copy will be sent to you within 14 days.

Why your views matter

On 1 April 2013, statutory responsibility for publishing and updating a statement of the need for pharmaceutical services passed to Health and Wellbeing Boards. This statement of need is referred to as a Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment (PNA)

Pharmaceutical Needs Assessments are used by the NHS to decide whether to approve applications for new pharmacies in an area and by commissioners to identify local health needs that could be addressed by pharmacy services.

What happens next?

The feedback from this consultation will influence any changes made to the draft PNA before it goes to the Health and Wellbeing Board for approval and then becomes a working document.

Please note that the London Borough of Sutton and the Health and Wellbeing Board will not accept feedback that isn’t submitting using the standard response form or feedback received after the consultation closing date.
