Strong Voices for People with Learning Disabilities
Overview
Are you an adult with a learning disability? Do you think your voice is heard?
These questions are all about how you are able to speak up about things.
We want people with a learning disability to be able to:
- Make their views known
- Get better care and support
- Have more information and power
- Have services they can use easily
Adult Social Services buys a service to do this called the User Involvement Service. At the moment, the service employs one person who works mainly with a voluntary group called Speak Up Sutton. Speak Up Sutton is asked to look at things that might challenge people with a disability. Some of this work comes from the Council and some of it comes from other people.
Why your views matter
The Council is thinking about whether we can make things easier for people with learning disabilities to have their say in the future. So, we need to find out what people think at the moment.
